Nature Wonder

Everyone loves Morel Mushrooms. They show up when and if they choose to. It can take two or more of patient, careful stewardship to produce a crop. If you are game, plant them in a mixture of partial decomposed organic matter and soil, keep the bed moist, and break out the chess set. We offer an honest hardworking Midwestern white morel strain for spring and fall planting.

Morels are like no other mushroom we have ever encountered. They grow in many different soil environments and grow in relationships with many different types of plants and parasitic life.

Most of the morel patches found are actually one colony of interwoven mycelia. When the conditions are right the whole area produces fruitbodies (mushrooms) in a close time frame. If the conditions are not right for fruiting the mycelia will continue to grow and store nutrients (like human store fat) until the conditions are precise. With that being said, those who try to grow morels are always looking for the right combinations of composed plant material, wood ash, sand, peat moss, wood pieces, sawdust, gypsum, calcium, sulfate, shade, moisture, and an abundance of patients. The only guarantee when working with nature is uncertainty.
